Loaded the following update from the Windows Update web
site last night to my Windows XP SP2 PC:
DirectX 9.0b End-User Runtime
This was the only update applied.
After the update was applied and the PC rebooted the PC
sees my Motorola Surfboard SB4100 cable modem as
an "unknown device". I downloaded the last USB drivers
from Motorola's web site and tried to update the drivers,
but XP told me I already had the most current drivers
installed. This cable modem has been working for 6+
months.
Did a Google search and the only solution I've been able
to find is to run a program called DirectX Eradicator
1.09, which appears to remove DirectX completely from the
PC. This seems a little extreme since DirectX is somewhat
tied to the OS. But if it's the answer then I'll do it.
I see DirectX 9.0c is now available, does anyone think
this will resolve the issue?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
