Directors duplicate outlook folders

C

Confused

Since temporary laptop setup in HQ, site based desktop PC now has duplicate
folders [except inbox] Calendar - Top folder has real information but does
not synch with blackberry, Bottom folder synchs with blackberry and now
contains now real information; Contacts - Top folder has real informaion and
synchs with blackberry, bottom folder is blank but has no option to delete.

Told by the user that web mail does not display duplicate folders, and info
from Blackberry is not relevant.

Does anyone know why this happend [has happened to 2 previous people similar
story, but they did not have blackberry's] and the best method for resolution.

Regards,

Confused.

No need to talk in a telegram style here.
Why not start with sharing some configuration data?
Also, are you saying these are duplicate folder stores or does each folder
show up twice within a single mailbox?
If you are using Exchange, make sure you have set delivery to the Exchange
mailbox and that the Exchange Mailbox is the default message store.

I had the same problem and here is my solution: go to file / import and export /
export to a file / comma separated values (windows) / select the "contacts" folder you want to keep / check the path to see where it will be saved or pick your own path / save. Then go into outlook and delete the folder you exported from and then reverse the process to get your data back into the remaining folder.

Completely unnecessary. Why export to a non-native format to begin with?
Your process is only moving the contacts; you can do that directly in
Outlook already.

Hi All,

Okay have checked that the PST's are closed to elimate any duplicate folders
from that end. Also checked that the mail profile is ok [Contraol panel, mail
- user has only one mail profile].

Re your

Re duplicate folders I am thinking of changing the view on Contacts to phone
list, cntrl+a,cntrl+c,then going to the live Contacts [i.e. the one the
blackberry synchs with] and pasting into that. Then delete the duplicate
non-synching folder.

Re the calendar similar to above but changing the view to 'by category' and
a copy and paste, then delete the un-needed folder.

Another method has been proposed to me of renaming the OST and then opening
outlook to re-create the OST file.

Anyway all comments welcome.

Hi All,

Solution was to:

connected to users outlook, copied calendar and contacts to live folders,
deleted the duplicate folders.

Thanks for all the help.
