Windows XP Directories Problem

Hi All
Some time ago I tried to do something with the hard drive an inadvertently created a weird directory which I can not get rid of.
It has now become a problem as my HP Image Zone files all images in this directory which is difficult to access.
E.g it files my images in C:\A\A\A\A\A\A\Data\My Documents\My Scans etc.
Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this convoluted directory?

Thanks for the input.
However the problem is not 'path to long'.
If I try to delete the directory (or any sub directory on it) I get a message saying "S is a Windows system folder and is required for Windows to run properly. It cannot be deleted."
I know that it is not a windows system folder as I accidentally created it from 'Tools' Map Network Drive'.

I'm a bit confused how you can create a folder from Tools > Map Network Drive? Can you post a screenshot of the directory property page please?

It sounds like it could be your user data directory if images are saved there by default, so just deleting it might not be a good idea. If this does turn out to be a non-important directory, Unlocker can delete almost anything (http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/)... but I would strongly suggest figuring this directory out before reverting to using that.

Directories Probplem

Ian, many thanks for your input.
I have thought back to when I created the problem. I tried to 'segment' my hard drive using 'Map Network Drive' quite wrongly. I wanted to create a segment called S but the system created S/A/A/A/A/A/A etc.
It is strange because when I went to create a screen shot as you requested, 'Explore' only displayed S/A. So I closed 'Explore' and re-opened it, then it showed the full path.
Being a novice at this stuff, I cannot see a way of inserting the 'screen shot' I took in this reply, so describe it as follows:

Data
Favorites
followed by other directories e.g. My Documents etc. which I can delete.
If I try to delete anything between S to Favorites, I get the message "is a Windows system folder and is required for Windows to run properly. It cannot be deleted."
I will be away for a few days so will not be able to respond until I get back.

Try to use Unlocker.

Thanks for the image you e-mailed, but for future note there is also a way to attach it to the forums when you click "Post Reply" (just click the attachment manager).

Can you click on My Documents on the start menu, just to confirm that it doesn't link to that long URL you posted? If it's just a rogue directory that doesn't actually contain your documents or favourites folder then you should be able to remove it with unlocker.
