When I try to run Halo for pc there is an error that says the hardware
acceleration may be disabled, run DXDIAG, but the thing is that hardware
acceleration is enabled all the way to full. on DXGIAG it says under "NOTES"
on the Display tab the following:
The system is using the generic video driver. Please install video driver
provided by the hardware manufacturer.

To test DirectDraw functionality, click the "Test DirectDraw" button above.

Direct3D functionality not available. You should verify that the driver is
a final
version from the hardware manufacturer.

under the direct x features, none of them are avalible, tried reinstalling,
still wont work.

You will not be able to run Halo using the generic video driver. You
didn't tell us what your video card is, but it may be old, failing, or
just plain inadequate to run a game like Halo for PC.

Assuming that the card meets Halo's system requirements, update its
drivers from:

1. The device mftr.'s website; OR
2. The motherboard mftr.'s website if hardware is onboard*; OR
3. The OEM's website for your specific machine if you have an OEM
computer (HP, Dell, Sony, etc.).

Read the installation instructions on the website where you get the
drivers.

*I doubt an onboard video card would be able to run Halo.

If you are already using the most recent drivers or cannot install them
(they install but then the system falls back to generic drivers), the
card itself is probably failing. Uninstall and swap out for a
known-working card. If that solves the problem, replace the original
card with something you know will work with modern games.
