Direct X limitations

John

I have upgraded to Windows 2000 Professional and cannot
install a game that previously installed in Windows
Millenium. I get a message saying that this product cannot
be installed on Windows NT because of Direct X
limitations. Anybody know what this means? And is there
anyway of getting around it? I'm running Direct X 9.0b if
that helps.

Thanks.

It means the developer that wrote the app decided it would never run on an
NT system and decided not to even allow it a chance. You could try
compatibility mode, but aside from that or a patch from the publisher that
is about it. For Compatibility right click the shortcut and choose the
compatibility tab. From the Compatibility mode section choose an OS you
would like to try to fool the app into thinking it is running on.

Hope that helps.
