direct cable connection

I want to share files btw two home computers
I have set up a direct cable connection using parallel ports btw my (Host)desktop (WIN95) and my (client)laptop (WINXP
Both computers confirm connection is up and running, but I can't find the client computer in Network Neighborhood on the host
How do I find it and how do I then open files
Specific directions gratly appreciated.

Have you opened the new connection wizard in xp,it will le
you configure youre set-up automatically.
