Direct Cable Connection between 2 computers

I am trying to transfer files from my old computer (Win95) to my new one (XP Home) via parallel cable. Both computers say they are connected, but I cannot see any files (all of which are set up for sharing) on the host (Win95) computer from my XP machine, which is set up as guest. As a matter of fact, I cannot see the host computer at all. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Are you using a crosswired cable?

Ugh, I hope you don't have much files to transfer because that is a very
slow connection and a real pain in the @$$ to setup. My own experience has
been very bad with this. If I were doing this I would probably just yank
the hard drive from the 95 machine and slave it to the XP machine, or setup
a REAL network.

Good luck!
