On startup, get error msg "Direct Access Component has
encountered a problem and needs to close"

on 9/18 installed WinXP Sp2
on 6/15 installed DirectX9 hotfix

What's the problem and what do I do?

I get the same error. I've searched through microsoft.com and went to the
link described below. Neither were much help. Seems this is not a big deal to
anyone. And yes...it started when I installed WinXP SP2.
