Difficulty connecting to home network and printer with Vista RC-1

Printer is connected to an XP Home desktop. I am running Vista RC-1 on
Laptop connected to home network via router. I can access the desktop but
folders show as empty (when I know they are full). The same story with the
printer, I can see it on the shared drive but when I try to connect to the
printer - or add a printer to the laptop I get the message "access denied."

I don't know if this is a firewall issue. I am running One Care Live on the
laptop and the desktop has McAfee. Because I can connect to the desktop and
see file folders (but not acess content), I am at a loss.

Any suggestions from RC-1 Beta Testers?

Mark,
I tried McAfee once and I seem to remember I had issues connecting to my
desktop too! (This was a while ago using XP Pro!). It might be useful to
disable McAfee briefly to see if that cures the problem! If it does, then I
would imagine there's a setting in the program somewhere to allow network
connections.
One other thing to check is that you have enabled sharing on the folders on
the desktop! (sorry if that's too obvious, but sometimes it's the "obvious"
that we overlook!). Also, although I've never shared a printer, other than
using a PrintServer, the printer needs to be set to "share" too!
Regards,
Mike L
