Different Vista OS and Computer System

Is it true that your computer's hardware have to high end enough to use a
certain Vista OS: Vista Basic, Vista Premium...? I read that some systems
can only run with Vista Basic, and if you put Premium on that system, it
will not run right.

You can find compatibility software on the Microsoft Vista Operating System
site. Download and run it. It will then let you know what is and what is
not supported. There is also a product matrix chart that can help you make
a decision.
