Are there separate registry entries
for each profile?
If so, where are they in the registry?

EG
I have removed the splash screen for Outlook
Express in my profile but this does not
work in the Guest profile.

Any help or advice appreciated.

Jack,

Thankyou for your reply.
I'll check out the MKB article.

| Whiteyes,
|
| the answer to your query is yes and no. Some registry
| entries affect all users of a machine and some just the
| individual user. In the case of the guest account it is
| more complicated because the profile is recreated each
| time that the user logs on from the default user profile
| (and deleted when the user logs off). I could write a
| treatise on this subject!
|
| The first thing that you need to do is read the Microsoft
| Knowledgebase article 305709 which explains (without much
| detail) how to create a customised default user profile
| which is what you need to do. Have a look at this, post
| any questions or problems on this newsgroup thread and I
| will try to assist further. Alternatively e-mail me (I
| sometimes lose track of these threads).
|
| regards,
|
| JackOfHearts.
