I am trying to find a way to easily change the outgoing servers for my email
accounts depending on where I am located.
I have Outlook 2003 on a Windows XP laptop. It is currently set up to
receive incoming mail from three different accounts. However, the outgoing
server for those three accounts is the same and based on my ISP
(outgong.verizon.net). However, when I take the laptop into the office, I
need to change the outgoing server to what my office's ISP accepts
(outgoing.earthlink.net). And when I am at school, I have to change it to
their outgoing server.
How can I tell Outlook that I am at a particular location and it will
automatically use the outgoing servers needed for that location?
Some things I found online suggested that I create separate profiles based
on my location. But will certain profiles only show certain messages? For
example, if I have downloaded messages on my "home" profile, will they be
visible when I go to work and log in on my "work" profile?
Thanks for your help.
