Different Key Code Ques.

My computer went down on Tuesday. After many hours on
phone with tech support, it was decided to format my hard
drive and re-install Windows, which didn't work. Long
story short -- Dell is sending a new mother board on
Monday. Problem -- I have Windows ME with XP upgrade. I
have all my disks in a CD holder with all key codes and
disc information in my original Dell box. I don't
remember whether the XP home edition upgrade came with a
Product Key Code (it is not in my box), but I do have a
Product Key Code for my "Microsoft Office XP Small
Business Version 2002". Is this the same key code for
installing the XP upgrade? Thanks for the help.

The Product Key for Office and Windows XP are different and not
interchangeable.
Since the computer has been formatted, the Product Key can not be
retrieved from the computer.
You will need to locate the Product Key for Windows XP.

If Windows XP is retail, it is affixed to the CD package on an orange
sticker.
If windows XP is OEM, the Product Key should be affixed to the
computer.

Otherwise if Windows XP is retail, contact Microsoft:

If Windows XP is OEM, contact the seller, Microsoft can not help.
