Different Email accounts, different inboxes, share contacts?

Hi, my wife and I currently use outlook express (via different indentities).
She and I both have different email accounts, different inbox's, and some
different addresses in the address book (we also have some shared addresses).
I would like to switch over to Outlook 2002 if possible, because it manages
contacts so much better, and I can store more info in each contact. However,
I want us each to keep our own email addresses, I want us each to be able to
send messages from our own email addresses, I want us to each maintain
separate inboxes, and I want to be able to share our contacts. Is there
anyway to do this in Outlook 2002 (or 2003 for that matter... I would upgrade
if I needed to). Looks like to me I can't share contacts with different user
profiles, and I can't have different inboxes with different accounts in one
user profile. Any ideas?? Thanks.

Go the route of different profiles with a distinct PST file to hold each
mailbox. From there, select File | New | Outlook Data File and create a
common PST that both can access. This shared PST can be used to store items
common to both of you.

The downside is that the PST file can only be accessed by one of you at any
given time. (e.g. if you have it open, then her profile won't be able to
open until you close outlook.)
