did something wrong

I am a senior citizen,my computer is a HP windows XP.I use my computer
for entertainment only.I had to do 2 recoveries and on the last one it
did not install my microsoft windows.so I did a stupid thing, I used my
friends cd and it installed windows professional.my windows was
preinstalled when bought. HP wants to charge me $45 to help over phone.
I am on social securiy ,cant afford it. do i do another recovery?

If you want the version of Windows that came with the HP computer back on
your machine you will have to use the method of recovery that shipped with
said machine. Likely one or more recovery CD/DVDs - but it could just be an
image on the hard disk drive. If you have done recoveries before
(destructive I assume) -- same thing.

Are you getting some sort of message telling you something is not right?
