Hello,

I have a new DELL Precision 490. I installed WinXp pro 32 Bit with SP2 (DELL
CD), installed network card drivers and office 2003 and setup a POP3 account
on outlook.
When checking mails i've got the message "The operation timed out waiting
for a response from the receiving POP server".
Note that I can telnet and read mail from this computer.

Any help is appreciated
Thank you,
Charbel

If you use a virus scanner that integrates with Outlook disable this
integration and try again.

Thank you for your answer
DELL support passed by today and changed the mainboard (built-in network
card was not working, I was using a PCI card). Tried after changing the MB
and outlook worked properly. Weird!!! Note that the data transfer on the PCI
ethernet was normal.
