Diane,

Something has happened to my Outlook today; all my messages, contacts,
calendar, etc. disappeared (or are inaccessible) and two “Launch MS Outlook
icons appeared on my task bar. It may have coincided with my removing an
Outlook shortcut from my desktop. I restarted my computer to see if I could
get my…Profile (?) back; but no success.

I'm being prompted to sign in with your user name and password on an AOL
account that says it's expired.

The prompting dialog box describes the server as mail.outlook-tips.com (I
think).

I don’t understand what happened. This morning I spent some time browsing
your Outlook Tips web site; until then I had none of this problem. Would you
help me please? I don't understand the problems's connection to you or your
web site. Please help.

I can't send any mail at all because of the propmt I'm getting to sign in
with your user name and password. This Microsoft.com site is the only avenue
I know of to reach you.

Thank you.

It's really not a good idea to post personal information in a public
newsgroup.

Diane,

There are two accounts listed:
User Accounts/Pick an Account to Change/ [two listed:] "[MY NAME] Computer
Administrator"; and "Guest Guest Account is off".

Is it the account named "Guest" that I should delete even though it says it
is turned "off"?

I'll wait your reply.

Thank you.

It looks like you ran the sample PRF file from

Go to control panel, mail - show profiles button. You should have two
profiles listed - one named "My Outlook Profile" and another. Delete the My
Outlook Profile one.
