Dialup & WiFi in Venice

I thank you in advance for reading this and giving your best answer.

I have an aquaintence who will be traveling to Venice from May to June and
needs to know if she needs any special cables and/or adapters to connect to
the Internet. She is checking out dial-up and WiFi connections but is getting
mixed answers on whether or not she needs anything special in Europe, besides
an AC adapter.

Now, I'm almost positive that she doesn't need anything special to connect
to the Internet via dial-up or WiFi, but since I have never traveled to
Europe w/ my laptop, I would like a second opinion before I answer her.

Thanks in advance.

Christopher,

I know there are folks here who will give you some travel advice. I'll bet that
the BBR Forums (DSLReports) International, and Dialup, forums should be able to
help a bit too. I know that the phone system in Europe is different, so I
wouldn't bet she'll be able to just connect her laptop with modem, and have it
dialup. WiFi is different too.
