Dialup fails thru ICS client

C

cheryl

i have had limited success
browsing internet from client using ICS through dialup on
host. I can get to the web from client through host only
if host is not browsing the web and even then it is very
very slow or times out. I do have the router configured
with static IP address because it is easier to access the
hardware interface through IE but am willing to make it
dynamic and the host is static also. The tech note says

"You should not use this feature in an existing network
with Windows 2000 Server domain controllers, DNS servers,
gateways, DHCP servers, or systems configured for static
IP addresses." How do i reconfigure to make it work
right? please advise.

My configuration info is attached.

I'm confused now, you have a dial-up modem on one
machine, but also a router on the network?
Can you describe exactly how you get access, and how your
network is set up?

yes, i have the DSL/cable router for when i get that
service so in meantime i used it set up home network. I
use ICS on a "host" computer so that i can share its
dialup with a 2nd pc. The router is 192.168.1.1, the host
is 192.168.0.1 and the second is DCHP enabled.
