dialing out after boot

Updates up to date (or close). Thing took to doing a dial out (DUN connection) every time it was booted up. I never could find out what was making it do that. Finally disabled the autodial (Control Panel>Networking and etc.>Advanced).

This had the unfortunate side affect of killing the dial out abilities on some programs I do prefer maintain that ability, so I turned it back on and thought I'd search for the culprit some more.

Surprise, surprise, that seemed to have corrected the problem.

Don't know how or why. Anybody know? What is this phenomenon that I'm lookin' at here?

Yep. Windows does write some routing and network resources information
into the registry and it's sometimes a trick to make it to get a grip on
reality. Tickling settings has worked for me in such cases.
