Dial up connection stop working after hotfixes

Hello all,

I've been using a dial-up connection to the Internet using my modem.
After dialing, the terminal would pop up and I could log on, activate
slip, click Continue, and everything worked ok.

Unfortunately, after installing a bunch of critical hotfixes from
windows update, this post-dialing terminal window is now read-only: I
can read the prompts from the server, but I cannot type nor activate a
script that could do the job of logging on. Because of that, I can no
longer access the Internet with that connection.

I know that the server and my modem works, because I can connect using
hyperterminal.

The hotfixes I installed are the following:
- Security Update for Windows 2000 (KB917736)
- Security Update for Windows 2000 (KB911280)
- Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1
(KB916281)
- Security update for (Jscript Version 5.6) for Windows 2000 (KB917344)
- Security Update for Windows 2000 (KB914389)
- Security Update for Windows Media Player 9 (KB917734)
- Security Update for Windows 2000 (KB917953)
- Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool - June 2006 (KB890830)

Any ideas ?

Thanks a lot.

I had the same problem on an XP box. Uninstall KB911280.

Here is the link that talks about it breaking the post-dialing term.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/911280/en-us

To unistall hot fixes, open the add/remove software control panel, and
you might need to select the show updates check box, atleast on XP you
did.

Good Luck.
