I've noticed a problem with several XP Pro workstations that I have updated
with SP2 and other patches from May and June. They use an application called
"AT&T Global Dialer". For some reason, the dialer gets launched
spontaneously with no intervention from the user. It appears randomly on
most workstations but on at least one, if I launch the IE browser, the
dialer is launched. It's acting as though there is no internet connection
and it is dialing to establish one. However, the dialer is set to not launch
automatically and the browser connection is set to "never dial a
connection".
I suspect that one of the patches may have caused this. I remember seeing
some postings about TCP/IP settings?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated....
