dial-up's saved password wrong

When I open Internet Explorer, the Dial-up Connections box
comes up with the wrong saved password in it...way to many
characters in it. How about a fix for this.

The correct one is actually saved, it just reverts to a
fixed length bunch of *'s or circles to make it harder for
anyone to guess the password or even know how many
characters are in it.
Try connecting with the "too long" password and see if it
works. Betcha it will.

The number of asterisks you see is a security feature. If
the password is wrong or courrpted try the below. You
will lose all your system passwords make sure you write
them down.

It's a detailed procedure to get it to remember them.
