Dial Up Password Saved Incorrectly

I Have Windows XP Pro. and every time I have checked to
save my dial-up password, It has been saved incorrectly.
I am using an eight character password. but windows is
saving a 16 character password

Just log in normally ignoring the extra characters. It is
a security feature to keep other from guessing your
password.
