I have a small home network and D-link router with hub. I upgraded my
computer and added a modem for dial up. After about 5 min of use the modem
will not receive data. I can unplug the network cable and reboot and then
the modem will run all day long. Any suggestions? I know it is a network
problem and have checked all my settings but have run out of ideas. I am not
sure why this started after my upgrade. I even happens on an old computer
that I plugged back into my network. It happens with 3 different modems and
a couple of different computers. One was even running win98 instead of xp.
If anyone knows of a setting that could cause this it would be helpfull

Ozzie,

first thing I'd do is update the router firmware. There's a
decent chance that this will fix it, less than 50%, but still
worth doing.

Then please report back here for more advice, if this wasn't it.

I tried what you had suggested and it did not work. Thank you for your help.
Alais I think I will just wipe my computer clean and reset everhthing and
see if it helps.
