dial up connection

why does my dial up connection disconnects when i am
looking at my email
 
How would anyone know. You've given no details. Like WHAT PROGRAM do you use
to read mail.

Have you ticked the checkbox in the Send / Recieve dialog that says Hang Up
When Finished.
 
Hi Bob,

If using Outlook Express, click tools/options/connection tab, uncheck "hang
up after sending and receiving".

Some servers do this. It is a PIA if you have dialup. Some
newsreaders will nontify you if the server is trying to disconnect.
But not outlook or outlook express.
