Dial Up Connection Starts Up ??

When ever I click on a a icon shortcut on the desktop, instead of the folder
/ shortcut opening up the Dial Up Connection Window pops up and it starts
dialing..This never happened before ..only after installing the latest sp
updates last week...Any advice on this ?...

Nope ..Still no luck ...I did them both.... files asc and shortcut link
connection dial up still pops up when they are clicked ..hey I just
remembered something ..I accidently deleled a THUMBS file for desktop that
appeared on the desktop because I allowed hidden files to be shown & I
forgot that was set that way...could that be it ? and if it was how do I get
that back recycle bin was emptied ....hummmmm

Hi Mike,

Deleting the thumbs file would have no effect on the system other than
losing the image previews if the folder were opened in Windows Explorer (and
is quickly and easily rebuilt if the user sets it to thumbnail view).

Try Doug's .exe file repair.
