IE dial-up password saves wrong

My XPpro connection wizard sets up my dial-up just fine.
However, the IE dial-up then creates a wrong password
that's about twice as long. Removing this wrong password
both in the IE dial-up set-up and again on the dial-up
dialog pop-up itself doesn't work after the first
connection. It just returns to the same long wrong
password. My dial-up icon on the desktop still works
fine but the IE dial-up keeps saving the old wrong
password. If I delete the IE passwords and close, they
are still not there when I re-open IE and if I type the
correct password in the pop-up without saving, it works
fine and they remain blank everytime I load IE.

Is there a fix this, as my wife needs an automatic saved
password for her IE use, without having to separtely
start the desktop dial-up first?

The password is correct , the appearance of more numbers is only for anti -
thievery purposes. Jym

That what I've read but it won't connect using this fake
password, if that what it really is, because it returns
an error message "incorrect password". When I delete
this "fake password" and type the correct one it works
fine.
