Dial-up connection manager

Renan

Hello,

I am looking for a program that will keep track of how much time I spent
online using my dial-up connection.

Needs to track date/time of connections. (so I can calculate taxes, as
my phone company has a few special rules for billing)

Thank you,
Renan.

there is a dutch program :

http://www.timeupsoft.com/Dutch/timeup/index.htm

and there is also an english version :

http://www.timeupsoft.com/English/timeup/index.htm

and it is freeware
Does this qualify as freeware?

TimeUp is FREE because we work with sponsors, but registering
your copy has some remarkable advantages.
....
1. The registered version does not have any banners. Your
connection will not be burdened by the downloading of banners.

The "registering" asks for 11 USD/Euros.

I have not downloaded TimeUp yet, but if it is adware, I won't even
bother downloading it.
(I don't mind feature-limited shareware, but I DO mind adware)

Back in my metered dialup days, I used No Frills Timer:

It's quite good, an inobtrusive 40K no-install program. It does record a
log file, but since I never used that feature I don't recall the
specifics of what it includes. Worth a look, it might be what you need.

Uh-oh. Scratch the bit about it being no-install. I recall that it was
once just drop-it-and-run-it, but it seems to be wrapped in an installer
nowadays. Anyhoo, it's GPL software (was once payware) and was by far
the most useful of the bunch I tried.

I tried this program a very long time ago and I didn't remember any banner
trouble.
I only checked if the program still exists.
But you are right; it's not freeware; it's irritating-ware; there site
shouldn't say this program is freeware!
There are (of course) registered versions circulating on the internet but
that makes it not a freeware program ;-).
