Dial Up Connection?

R

Randy

My dial up connection seeming pops up for no reason. Is there a log I
can check or a program that will tell me what is opening up my dial up
connection?

It does not connect to the internet, it just pops up if I leave my
computer on any length of time.

Thanks for any help or pointing me in the right
direction.....................

This can mean that IE or your mail is set to dial if there's no network
connection (but does not have a phone number), and your network card is
going to sleep or otherwise disconnecting, or the router is set to connect
on demand rather than always-on.

It doesn't necessarily mean that there is malware.

In IE, go to Tools, Internet Options, Connections, and ensure that Never
Dial A Connection is selected.
