Dial Tone on DSL

I have a DSL connection, but when I try to send a fax, it
doesn't get a dial tone. Any help?

The fax/modem (as opposed to your ADSL or DSL "modem") has to connect to an
analog line, the same type as your land-line phone (as opposed to cell
phone). For that, you might need to plug a line splitter into the jack for
the phone (make sure you get one that provides two or more connections to
the same line as opposed to splitting out different lines in the same cable)
and a line filter (available from your Telco or ADSL supplier or Radio Shack
or the like). Note: If the Telco installed the ADSL line, there is already a
filter on the phone line and another is not needed.

Let us know.

.
Thanks! I'll try that. We got one with the modem, but
I must've thrown it away. I have the filter, though.
Appreciate your help!
