Diablo 2 problems and major issues

Wen I start Diablo 2 after having installed it; it gives an Unhandeld Execption Error with something to do with Server. I tried installing a smaller install, but it gives the same error message. I close every program on the desktop... I can not get Rama to install on xp pro, either.
