I upgraded my PDC to a 2000 DC today. All went well except
for the dhcp service. The service is running and the scope
etc is there. Nothing seems wrong on the server end. When
I try to renew a lease on one of my workstations Nt4 or XP
I get an error saying the dhcp server is not available. I
have since added and removed the service 3 times following
step by step KB130642. I had a backup of the dhcp
directory from before the upgrade. If I start the old NT 4
dhcp service on an another server leases start renewing
fine. Just not with the new domain controller. I have 2000
advanced server at sp4. Any ideas would be appreciated

DHCP in Windows 2000 need to be authorized in Active Directory.

Hello All,

You will have to authorize the DHCP server.
