DHCP scope

J

John W Mitchell

My OS is W2K Pro.

I get the following error:

The DHCP allocator has disabled itself on IP address
192.168.1.2, since
the IP address is outside the 192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0
scope from
which addresses are being allocated to DHCP clients. To
enable the
DHCP allocator on this IP address, please change the scope
to include
the IP address, or change the IP address to fall within
the scope.

I have tried every thing I can think of and every thing I
can find on the web relating to this problem with no luck.
Can any one please tell me how I may correct this problem.

I have not been able to edit, setup, or change the scope
because when I open Administrave Tools I have no DHCP Snap
In in it. Where may I get this snap in?

Hi,

Have you enabled Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)? ICS runs a DHCP
allocator service that uses a DHCP scope of 192.168.0.0 and assigns an
address of 192.168.0.1 to the internal network interface of the box running
ICS.

Thanks,
Marc Reynolds

Add the Server support tools from the server support tools or install
adminpak.msi to get all the snap ins.
