DHCP issue

Hi all

I have a client's PC that can't seem to obtain an IP address
automatically (and I have already tried another LAN adapter, to no
avail). Before anyone simply says run it with a static address, this
client has a DSL router that is set to act as a DHCP server. All the
other PC's on the network work fine, just not this one.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what I can try?

TIA

Hi Dom,
Try to flush DNS (ipconfig /flushdns) on this Machine first and clear the
caches, then Open the RUn command and Type: ipconfig /renew or release and
Click OK and Reboot.
if still no joy Could you ping the Router from this machine?.
Try Ipconfig /all and see what is the result and send it here for us to see.
HTH.

Thanks for the advice, but as it turned out, this PC was actually
infected with the Stration.KR virus (despite the AV scanner's
definitions being up to date).

After getting it cleaned up, the IP address issue also cleared up...
