Dhcp issue

I have a Dell Latitude D600 using Broadcom 570x NIC
6.64.0.0 driver (recommended by Dell). This device cannot
grab a DHCP IP address from the server. I get the error
when doing an ipconfig /renew: The following error
occurred when renewing adapter Local Area Connection:
Unexpected network failure or insufficient access. I am
logged in as administrator. I can give this device a
static IP and it see's the network no problem. In the
eventviewer I get in the system log: Error Source Dhcp
Event ID: 1002. I have been troubleshooting this for more
then 12 hours with Dell and other consultants. I do not
see this error listed anywhere in Microsoft's website. So
I hope someone out there can help me.

Thank you

Do you have or did you have a firewall in place on the computer? Ports
67 & 68 are required to renew DHCP addresses and if a firewall is
blocking these ports you may experience this problem.

Thank you, but there is no firewall in place. The device
worked a couple of days ago, I rebooted the Cisco switches
(mainly because we moved them higher up in the switch
rack) and since turning the device back on it won't work.
The switch port is not shutdown and the overall switch
looks good. To verify this I had Cisco consultants work
with me for about 2 hrs. I can plug a Dell Latitude c840
laptop into the same port and it will grab a dhcp address
just fine. I think that it may be the software or
something with the broadcom that I may have triggered when
I rebooted the switches, because I have 2 Dell D600 and 1
Dell D800 all of which use the Broadcom NIC and none of
them work. However, all other devices seem to work ok. Any
other ideas.. Thanks again
