on Windows 2000 based we have a AD here and 1 DC..we have installed DHCP on
it..We also have a DSL router which we have plugged into our HUB's uplink
port...We want to setup RIS also on that windows 2000 DC [which has AD
installed]..Now teh client XP machines always get IP from the DHCP of DSL
rather than windows 2000..we have also removed the cable of DSL from HUB and
tried..but still the client machines fail to get IP from windows 2000
DHCP..THE DHCP snap-in shows DHCP active..and ready to service clients..pls
help..ANy way to tell client machines to get IP from windows 2000 rather than
DSL ?? The client's preferred DNS is the windows 2000 which has DNS

Just turn off DHCP on the dsl, go to the workstations and do an
ipconfig/release and renew, and it should grab an IP address from your Win2k
server (with DHCP service running)
