DHCP discover timeout

Hi

I am interested in the timeout figures on the dhcp message implemented on windows xp
Especially how can I manipulate them (registry keys)

As an example : If the client resends the discover message, how long does the dhcp client wait till resending. How does the algorithmus looks like (doubling the time?)
Are there RFC references
