DFS on AS

T

Tim Perkins

OK, I followed the KB article q220819 to the letter (with
no apparent problems). I then opened the DFS snap-in and
added two replicas. When I right-click on the DFS
root, 'Replication Policy' is greyed out. I've checked
and both the DFS and FRS services are running.

Can someone throw me a bone here and tell me what I'm
doing wrong?

Thanks in advance

Tim, the KB article you mention is for creating a stand-alone namespace on a
server cluster. Is this what you did? If so, you won't be able to enable FRS
replication because FRS is available only for domain-based namespaces. In
addition, domain-based namespaces aren't supported on shared cluster
storage.

What are you trying to accomplish with your namespace? If you can give me
your goals I can help you choose a configuration.
