Hello. I have just completed my 7th reformat.Imediately
after installing XP and getting the Service pack 1, and
installing Norton Antivirus 2003. I got a message saying
your system has recovered from a serious error. The
reason was a Device Driver.. Anyone know what this is?
And how can I fix it?
Regards: Bill

Does this happen before you install the updates? Have you updated or toned
down the video drivers? You may need to physically remove cards to reduce
the possibilities.

Also, pay attention to what apps and processes are running, and use MSCONFIG
to turn stuff off. Turn things back on one at a time until the problem
resurfaces (if turning everything off helps).

Bill - I have had the same issue ever since installing
some software for a home business application. It went
away when I tried uninstalling that software. However I
put up with it since I need the application. Now I now
longer need it and I am having trouble uninstalling - the
process was interupted by the blue screen with error
message and now can't "find" the program to uninstall
even though it is still on my program list. Any
suggestions?

With antiviral software, my understanding is that it can
be sometimes be resolved by uninstalling and repeating
the installation. My understanding is that any software
can be considered a Device Driver and can create error
messages after installation through "gliches" or
incompatibility with WindowsXP. CB
