"Detect and Repair" causes Print Layout View "lines"

For the heck of it, I decided to run "Detect and Repair" on my Word 200
which is running under Windows 98. Ever since then, every Word file
open or new one I create, places horizontal lines on the page in "Prin
Layout" View. In fact when you zoom in futher and futher, the line
turn to a grid which gets finer in resolution as you zoom in further
This grid covers the entire editable page. As you can appreciate it i
very difficult to view. I have run the "Detect and Repair" again and N
difference. When I view my docs on another computer on the network, i
shows up fine in "Print Layout" Also, all the other view types ar
fine. PLEASE help get rid of this so called lines and/or grid. Than
yo

This sounds like the drawing grid. You can turn it off from the drawing
toolbar > draw > grid dialog.
