I am having trouble getting my PC to operate

When I start the PC everything begins as normal but when it gets to the user
accounts screen (there is only 1 account) it seems to log on then immediately
logs off again and leaves me with the account selection screen again and when
I select the account the same thing happens

I have tried using administartor account to open it but this has no effect
and simply repeats the above process
