Desparate here....

My house burned down and running low on funds, I bought an Emachine, which
had McAfee temp.loaded for a month. EMachines said I had to let it run out
on its own or the warranty was voided.

When McAfee ran out, I uninstalled it, and


....and..



OMGosh!

I had about 80GIG images and midis,
20 GIG of business docs, bills, bids, etc., tech.reports,

gone!!!


Restore didnt bring them back.

I fortunately had most on CD backup..

BUT
My Windows/Media (sounds of Windows) are gone also,
as well as My Documents & Settings
and My Documents
Favorites
Old Favorites html files of links I had made
and cookies

This McAfee uninstall just about gutted my life and puter.

Where do I find the sounds file (Windows\Media| with Windows wavs ??

not sure what happen with that uninstall, but try doing a search for anything
with a .wav or .mp3 and see what comes up. If you still need a antivirus
program try www.grisoft.com download the home version its free and will
always update when something new comes out.

never mind - thanks but I finally got my friend to copy his XP Windows/Media
folder over for me.
