desktop wallpaper

I change my desktop wallpaper frequently. I scanned a photo and when I went
to the Control Panel to change to the new wallpaper, I noticed that, in
addition to the pre-loaded desktop wallpapers, all the photos in MY PICTURES
and one of its subfolder were on the list. This happened within the last 7
to 10 days and I don't know why.
PS- the folder I keep the wallpapers in ins NOT My Pictures.
Any suggestions?

==================================
By design, all images in your My Pictures folder
will be available in the Desktop Background list.
If you wish to remove your images from this list
all you have to do is move the images to a different
folder outside of the My Pictures folder. A New
Folder in My Documents...for example.

To move the contents of your My Pictures folder...
open the folder and go to...Edit / Select All...
In your "Picture Tasks" pane...choose "Move the
selected items"...

On your "Move Items" screen...choose or create
a new folder and left click the "Move " button.

I have noticed that if I exceed 100 images in My
Pictures the files no longer show in the Background
list. There may be a way to edit this number but I
don't know how.

If you wish to delete all the images in your My
Pictures folder...open the folder and go to...

Edit / Select All...
File / Delete...

When the dialog box says...

Are you sure you want to send these XX items to
the recycle bin?

Click "Yes".
