Desktop taskbar

The taskbar doubles in size after adding the address &
quick launch to it. I can add the address, no problem,
but try to add the quick launch and it doubles the size,
taking up more of the desktop. I tried dragging the
vertical line to accommodate the quick launch, but it
doesn't drag. Help with this issue is truly appreciated.

Hi,

That requires a bit of patience to do.
first unlock the taskbar by right clicking on the task bar and unchecking Unlock the taskbar.
Then right click on the taskbar and choose quick launch and address.
pull the address bar so that it is at the bottom of the tray and the next upper row is allocated to the quick launch and the program windows.

Now lock the taskbar again by right clicking on the task bar and checking Unlock the taskbar. Note that the address bar is too long to accomodate the quick launch in the bottom row and hence you will have to push the quick launch to the first row.

Also if you enable "Group Similar Icons" then real estate will be minimised.
