Desktop Shortcut Won't Work

I like to keep icons on my desktop for my zip drive(E) and CD Drive(F) but
recently the shortcut for the CD drive quit working, it can't find the
drive. If I open My Computer and click on the CD drive it works normally but
if I click or drag the icon to create a shortcut on the desktop, the
shortcut won't work even though the path in the properties box is correct.
Does someone know what file I need to edit to get the shortcut to function
normally?

Right click on your CD ROM under you My Computer and select Create Shotcut
and you should be working again.
