desktop short ?

When I'm in the help window and other support sites they
say to: right click on the windows start "desktop" to go
to...
It doesn't work. I've right clicked till my fingers were
blue! Nothing.
I can get to these places by searching other windows but
it would be nice if this feature worked. Do I need
to "enable" anything? Does this work with all computers?
I'm a new user so....could use the help.

Linda, what are you trying to do? You can right click on any object on
the desktop. The menu options will vary depending on what and where you
right click. What you want to accomplish would determine exactly where
you should be right-clicking.
