Desktop problem.

I was trying to place an Icon on my desktop and mistakenly clicked on the
wrong item, that said something like "Do you want to show this on your
desktop"....Now I have at least three things that are not Icons that I can't
remove.
Help me please remove these items. Two of them are just blank retangle
shapes and one is a worded retangle.

if your restore is functional, why not simply restore to the day or maybe
that morning before you made the changes?

I have tried restoring several times, but it has changed nothing on my
desktop. The
items are still there. The actual wording that I clicked on was..."Set as
desktop item"....thank you for suggestion, but sorry to say it did not work.

Right click Desktop | Arrange Icons By| UNCheck: Lock Web Items on Desktop

Lock Web Items on Desktop
[[Specifies whether Web content windows or items that *you* have placed on
your desktop are locked in place and can’t be moved. Select the check box to
lock Web content in place. Clear the check box if you want to be able to
move Web content.]]

If you still cannot remove items...
Right click Desktop | Properties | Desktop tab |
Customize Desktop button | Web tab | Click on the items that you want to
remove |
Click the Delete button

Delete button
[[Click to remove the selected Web page or Web item. When
My Current Home Page is selected, this button is not available.]]
