Desktop problem need advise

The problem im having is if I load up either msn messenger or windows media
player they will apear on the task bar how ever the window itself seems to
apear as aline at the side of the screen which I can not drag or move. Ive
tried re-installing them and the problem still continues.
any help would be very much apreaciated

I've been having the same problems with my msn messenger. I tried to
re-install and again install various versions of messenger many times, but
the problem seems to be still there. The window just dissappears from the
screen when I try to make the program active.
Need help!
