desktop icons

How do i change the space bewteen my desktop icons? I
upgraded to Windows XP & now my icons are on top of each
other. I have tried auto arrange, snap to grid & every
other obvious option that comes up when you right click
on the desktop. Now what?

Control Panel
-> Display
--> Appearance tab
---> Advanced button

In "items" box find icon horiz/vert items
and adjust as desired

I believe default on 600x800 screen is
43 horiz and vert.

Right click your desktop then properties\appearance tab-
advanced button and under item click the drop down list
arrow and icon spacing both horizontal and vertical is
there. Make note of all the items that are in the list
that can be changed here for your future configurations.
